MAGAZINE MAKEUP: June 2016

I thought I'd share some magazines which have free makeup this month! I know it's late but I did also want to review the makeup which is received with the magazines. 

 

-GLAMOUR- 

 

Glamour is giving different makeup items from he same brand (Model CO.) this month. I picked up the 'Lip Enhancer' which is usually worth £16. The magazine was on offer for only £1! I definitely recommend picking one for the amazing price!

The lip liner comes in one shade and it is supposed to be used to give the appearance of bigger lips (a current trend due to Kylie Jenner). The product is 1.2g (0.04oz) and comes in a nude shade which will suit almost anyone. Although it is supposed to be used as a contouring product, I like using it all over the lips then putting a lip balm or gloss over the top.

-ELLE-

 

Elle are giving away the 'Goof Proof Brow Pencil' by Benefit this month. This is a world exclusive and I recommend picking it up. The magazine retails at £4.10 and the product is worth £18.50. The are also giving a free brow wax at Debenhams for every reader (it works on a buy one get one free basis and is valid until 31st July 2016). 

There are 2 shades in the magazine (2 and 6). If you are going to buy the magazine, I bought mine in shade 2 and reccomend checking before buying.The product is 0.11g (0.003oz). The shade is a cool toned light brown and lasts on my eyebrows all day.

Vanilla Coffee Cupcakes

Hello,

Today I thought I'd share a cupcake recipe which I love! I've adapted original recipe and you can do the same with this one if you wish. I hope you enjoy making these as much as I do!

 

-INGREDIENTS-

|MAKES 12|

CAKE MIXTURE:

• 175g self- raising flour
• 200g caster sugar 
• 125ml sunflower oil
• 1 medium free- range egg, beaten
• 175ml milk
• 1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

 

ICING: 

• 75g icing sugar
• 25g cocoa powder 
• 50g unsalted butter
• 50g caster sugar
• 2 tablespoons strong coffee

 

-METHOD-

1. Preheat oven to 190^oC. 

2. Put the flour and caster sugar in a cake mixer and pulse a few times. Make sure everything is combined. 

3. Put the oil, egg, milk and the vanilla extract in am measuring jug and mix with a fork. Whilst the machine is running, pour in the liquid mixture. Scrape the sides to ensure that it is mixed fully. 

4.  Evenly pour the mixutre into cupcake cases and bake them for 18-20 minutes. (I usually check at 15).

 

 Leave to cool on a wire rack. 

 

5. Sift the icing sugar and cocoa powder together in a mixing bowl. Put the butter, caster sugar and coffee in a pan and put over a low heat. Stir gently until it is smooth, bring to boil and then pour it into the dry mixture. Mix together and leave for 10 minutes or when hardened. 

6. Spread the icing on top of the cupcake and decorate with sprinkles or a dusting of icing sugar.

Top Ten Makeup Brushes

Hi everybody,

Today I thought I'd share my favourite makeup brushes. Makeup brushes are essential and I use them everyday to get my desired makeup look. You can read my summer makeup look here. I hope you enjoy seeing what I use!

-FACE BRUSHES-

 

1. REAL TECHNIQUES - SCULPTING BRUSH

I use this for contouring.

2. REAL TECHNQUES - BUFFING BRUSH

This is great for a full coverage foundation look which I love!

3. REAL TECHNIQUES - POWDER BRUSH

I use this for applying bronzer all over my face.

4. REAL TECHNIQUES - BLUSH BRUSH

This is what I use for applying  blusher.

5. SEVENTEEN - CHEEKS BRUSH

I use this for foundation or powder. 

-EYE BRUSHES-

 

6. MAC - 217

This is perfect for blending eyeshadows.

7. BOLD METALS - 202

I use this for filling in my eyebrows or for eyeliner.

8. REAL TECHNIQUES - SHADING BRUSH

I use this for packing on eyeshadow.

9. URBAN DECAY - NAKED 2 BRUSH

This is double ended - one side for blending, one side for packing on eyeshadow. 

10. SEVENTEEN - EYES BRUSH

To love this for putting eyeshadows in the crease/socket. The Real Techniques Deluxe Crease Brush in my opinion is too big but this one fits perfectly.

Everyday Summer Makeup Routine 2016

Hi everyone, 

Today I thought I'd share my Summer Makeup Routine! I've been wearing this for the past couple of weeks and I love it! 

-BASE-

I apply a small amount all over my face before foundation.

This is a medium coverage but I build it up for a full coverage. You can swap this out for a BB Cream or something lighter if you wish.

I use this concealer under my eyes in a triangle shape.

COLLECTION: Lasting Perfection Concelar // Fair 1 &  Cool Medium 2//

I use 'Cool Medium 2' on any blemishes or redness and 'Fair 1' to highlight.

I mainly use 'Soft Light' and 'Cream' to set my foundation and concealer, I then use 'Sculpt' to contour.

I use a big powder brush and sweep it in a 3 shape on my face to get a natural glow. 

ESTÉE LAUDER: All Over Shimmer: Limited Edition 

I apply this to the apples of my cheeks for a nice bronze glow.

This is my favourite highlighter! I use this on my cheekbones, brow bone, Cupid's bow, chin and tip of my nose.

I use this to fill in the sparse areas in my brows.

I use 'Strike A Pose' in my crease as a transition shade, as it is a matte shade. I then take 'Pixie' in the inner corner and on the first half of my eyelid. I put 'J'Adore' on the second half of my eye and blend. Sometimes, I switch 'J'Adore' out for 'Show Girl'.
