BATTLE OF THE SETTING SPRAY: Urban Decay vs. NYX

Hi guys,

Today I am doing another 'Battle of' between the Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray and the NYX Matte Finishing spray! I own the travel size version of the UD Spray which is £9 for 30ml (full size is £22 for 120ml. The NYX Spray is £7 for 60ml (double the Travel Size UD Spray for less money.)

I've chosen these two setting sprays because they are both loved in their own categories but I wanted to review them and see which one is "better".

-URBAN DECAY: ALL NIGHTER SETTING SPRAY-
TRAVEL SIZE: £9 & FULL SIZE: £22

First off, I do believe this spray is worth the hype. I LOVE the smell and it does help my make up last longer. It doesn't change the finish off my make up which I like but I do like the fact that the NYX one makes my face matte. In my opinion, the spray bottle is a little stiff but that's probably just my weakness... I do love this product but the price is something which could put me off purchasing this again.

-NYX: MATTE FINISHING SPRAY-
£7.00

This spray does give a matte finish although it smells like chemicals which does put it at a disadvantage to the UD Spray. I really like the matte finish it gives my make up as it doesn't make my face look cakey. I do find that sometimes the bottle does not spray evenly but I just blot the excess away with a tissue or I push it into my skin with a damp Beauty Blender.

-THE WINNER-

If you can deal with a very pungent, chemical smell then I believe the NYX spray is great but I prefer the smell of the UD spray. Both sprays keep my make up in place for a long amount of time (a longer time than if I were to not use a setting spray) but it depends if I want a matte finish or just want to keep the normal finish of make up to which one I pick up.

Favourite Summer Scents

Hi,

Throughout summer I love to smell nice so I've decided to share some of my favourite fragrances which I wear all through summer.

**These may not be very good descriptions as I cannot describe scents to save my life.**

£40.00

This is the most luxurious scent I've put in this collection and it is gorgeous! I love the sweet, fresh scent and I get so many compliments when I wear it.

-VICTORIA'S SECRET: PASSION STRUCK-
£16.00

This is a sweet most and smells exactly like the store. I love generously spraying this all over and the scent lasts as well.

£4.00

This is a very sweet scent but I do love it as this Soap and Glory range is amazing!

£11.00

This one is probably the least sweet but this is usually the one I take on holiday as I feel it just has that holiday feeling to it... It's probably just me that thinks that but oh well.

You now know what I smell like in the summer. You should definitely go into stores and smell these fragrances and I hope you love them as much as I do!

BATTLE OF THE MAKEUP SPONGE: Beauty Blender vs. Real Techniques

Hi everyone,

Firstly, I would like to say to all the Americans out there, Happy 4th July!🇺🇸 I hope you're having a great time and celebrating this day with all your family and friends:)

Anyway, back to why you're probably reading...

I'm going to start a new series on my Blog which is a 'Battle of' two products. One of these products will be High-End and the other will be Drugstore. I will review both of them and then (try to) conclude a winner.

Today I am going to be putting the Beauty Blender against the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge! The Beauty Blender is £16 and the RT Miracle Complexion Sponge is £5.99. The difference between these sponges is that the RT Sponge has a flat side which helps blend harder to reach areas, whereas the BB is egg shaped.

-BEAUTY BLENDER-
£16

The BB is a lot softer than the RT Sponge. When squeezed it takes less effort although both sponges are better quality than cheaper alternatives. The BB is very deceiving as when it is soaked in water it grows at least 3x bigger. This doesn't change the texture of the sponge but does help it soak up less product, meaning you get more for your money. It blends foundation effortlessly and gives a flawless finish. The tip of it is perfect to use under your eyes and even for contour!

-REAL TECHNIQUES: MIRACLE COMPLEXION SPONGE-
£5.99

For less than half the price, this sponge seems like a better offer. It is slightly more dense than the BB but it does overall give the same flawless finish. This sponge has a flat finish which is best for giving a fuller coverage. I used to use this side all the time but now I have grown to use the rounded sides. If I am going to bake, I would rather use this sponge (this is not necessary) but I find it being denser makes it slightly better.

-THE WINNER-

Overall, I believe that the Beauty Blender is a unique sponge which cannot be copied but the Real Techniques sponge is still amazing. I would recommend both sponges to anybody but it is down to how much you want to spend on a makeup sponge.

I hope you enjoyed this new series. I am going to continue it in the following weeks, so look out!
