MAC x Caitlyn Jenner - 'Finally Free' Lipstick Review + Swatches

Hi everyone,

I am so excited review the new MAC x Caitlyn Jenner collaboration lipstick! This is an online exclusive lipstick so I will also be reviewing the ordering process as well in case you haven't ordered from MAC before. I love the Kardashian/Jenner family and MAC Cosmetics so when I heard Caitlyn Jenner was bringing out a MAC Lipstick, I knew I needed it.

-CONTEXT-

**The information below has all been quoted from the MAC website.**

"Caitlyn Jenner has fearlessly shared her transition with the world. Her new M·A·C Lipstick, Finally Free, champions All Ages, All Races and All Sexes. 100% of the selling price goes to the M·A·C AIDS Fund Transgender Initiative, to further its work in support of transgender communities. Exclusively Online."

-THE LIPSTICK-

The lipstick is a cremesheen finish which proves to be moistoruising, comfortable and long lasting. On the website it is described to be a midtone rosey finish which I agree with! I must admit, when I first looked at in person, it was a lot darker than I expected  but it is still a wearable shade. It's a suitable, every day shade which you would be able to wear to school or work. I love the overall look of the lipstick and think it suits me pretty well. I believe it would suit every skin tone, looking like a darker pink on pale skin and lighter pink on darker skin - it doesn't matter what colour your skin is, I think it will look beautiful!

It is the normal MAC price for a lipstick (£15.50) and all the money goes to the Transgender Initiative.

-ORDERING ONLINE-

The process of ordering online was very straight forward and easy to follow. I ordered on a Saturday and it arrived on Wednesday. When I ordered, it was free shipping on any order (I highly recommend you wait for that if you are only thinking of making a small order as standard shipping is £4.95) and I coopuld choose a free sample. I chose a Prep + Prime Skin Base Visage (6ml) as I've always wanted to try it. I used PayPal to pay for my order and received an E-Mail to confirm my order and another on Monday saying it had been dispatched. I believe if I had ordered on a working day, it probably would've arrived quicker but I ordered at 9:30pm on a Saturday...

I hope you found this useful and it inspires you to buy one of these marvellous lipsticks yourself!

Revision Tips & Tricks To Help You Through Exams

Hi everyone,

Today I thought I would share some revision tips to help you through the exam period! I have been revising for a few exams which are coming up very shortly so I thought I would share some of the most helpful things I've done.

STAY HYDRATED

This may be one of the most patronising things someone could ever tell you and the most annoying thing is that it actually works. By staying hydrated, your body can retain so much more information so set yourself a limit of how much water you should drink in the period of time you are revising . The ideal amount of water  is 2 litres a day so try drink a pint of water (568ml).

FLASH CARDS

Make yourself flash cards with key topics (such as a case study) and learn it. You don't need to write paragraphs but if you write the most useful information, it'll be easier to remember and maybe even more fun?! Okay, maybe not more fun but you've got pretend you're enjoying it. Fake it 'til you make it.

EAT SWEETS

Specific foods can bring back memories so if you eat, for example, a rhubarb & custard sweet whilst revising longshore drift for Geography and then you eat the same sweet in the exam, you could possibly remember more information from your revision session. This is basically giving you an excuse to eat sweets whilst revising and doing your exams. its marvellous, if I say so myself. But before you go raiding the overpriced  pic n' mix shelf, ask you're school if you're allowed to eat hard boiled sweets whilst in the exam hall because if you're not it would be a waste of time and money. But if you are, go wild!

LIMIT YOURSELF

Staring at a page all about Trigonometry for 3 hours straight doesn't mean you're going to get full marks on the question in the exam. There might not even be a Trig question in the exam. That's if you're lucky because exam boards hate everyone and love torturing us with irrelevant problems which we'll never have to solve irl. But that's besides the point. If you limit yourself to 20 minutes of solid revision and then a 10 minute break, your brain will retain the information and you get to watch a YouTube video in between revising - what's not to love?

BUY A WHITEBOARD

I revise by writing things out over and over until I can recite them in my sleep. If you do the same, invest in a small, hand - held whiteboard. You can write until your heart is content and not waste paper which saves money and trees. If you know anything about science, you'll know all about how trees produce oxygen helping us breathe and stay calm during this time of despair.

REDECORATE YOUR HOUSE

My house is currently covered in posters with Ecosystems and micellaneous German words on. I've stuck them on cupboard doors  and every wall imaginable. Your parents will hate you now but love you when you get your grades in August. Unless you ignore the posters like me, that's a different story...

DO PRACTICE PAPERS

Practice makes perfect. But practice papers are the worst things ever. But you've got to remember that you'll be sitting exams which will have these style questions so practicing them will only make you be perfect and everyone wants to be perfect to prove Hannah Montana wrong, don't they?

REVISION TIMETABLE

If you want to make the most out your time, create a timetable. Schedule your days to focus on a new topic every hour. Learn about The Digestive System at 11am and Shakespeare at 12pm. The perfect timetable... (if you do get bored of re-reading Romeo and Juliet, just watch the film and stare at Leonardo Di Caprio's face).

I hope these tips will help you revise and help you succeed in your exams. Don't worry, it will all be over soon.

NYX Haul + First Impressions/Review + Swatches

Hello,

Firstly I would like to say I'm back! I haven't posted in forever as I've been so busy and I don't think it's going to slow down. I will try and post as much as I can and when I can. Just keep checking back or subscribe for E-Mail updates.

-CONTEXT-

I've always wanted to try NYX products but  I've never found a counter. I heard late last year that NYX was online in Boots but never got round to ordering until February. I ordered a few bits but didn't want to go over board as I've never experienced the quality (despite seeing loads of great reviews online). After trying the few products I had, I wanted more but could never justify ordering online as I didn't see the shades correctly.
Today, I went to my local Boots and nearly screamed when I saw the NYX counter. I made a beeline for it and now you have a haul.

-HAUL-

** I'd just like to mention that I am including products that I bought in February as I have a better review of them**

HIGHLIGHT & CONTOUR PRO PALETTE

£18.00

This palette has 8 shades which I use religiously! Since getting this palette in February, I have not stopped using it! It makes highlighting and contouring so much easier and I genuinely recommend this to anyone.

MATTE FINISH SETTING SPRAY

£7.00

Again, I have been using this spray everyday. This was the first ever setting spray that I have ever tried and it makes me want to try more! I don't think it does make my face matte but it does make it last. There's something so refreshing about using a setting spray - I definitely urge you to try one even if it isn't this one.

SOFT MATTE LIP CREAM //  ANTWERP

£5.50

The formula of these are amazing! They're so comfortable and easy to wear which is always a winner. This shade is quite bright which I didn't realise until I received it from my online order. Never the less, I still wear it and love it!

JUMBO EYE PENCIL // 604 MILK

£5.50

I love this! It's a great white eyeshadow base and makes it last longer which is always a good thing. It brightens shadows and also makes your eyes look larger if you put it in your waterline. It's a great purchase which I'm very happy with.

JUMBO EYE PENCIL // 601 BLACK BEAN

£5.50

As I said before, I love these! This is a matte black and is great to put all over the eye and blend outwards to create an effortless smoky eye. The formula of these is amazing and I'm definitely going to buy more!

CONCEALER JAR // GREEN

£5.50

I've never tried colour correcting before as there are not many of these products which you can buy at the drugstore. I've never wanted to buy a high end colour correcting product because I didn't want to waste my money or be disappointed. When I saw these jars I was over the moon and instantly grabbed the green one. I've tried it once and I can say that it definitely does cover up red areas and makes those areas look brighter, I would like to try some more of the colours but I am aware that there is a palette with six shades which I am tempted to buy.

LIQUID SUEDE LIPSTICK // STONE FOX

£6.00

This is probably one of the most unwearable shades for me but I was so excited that I picked it up and swore I could work it. It looks dark grey in the tube but once in your lips it goes to a more blue finish (making your teeth look whiter). The formula of these is incredible and They last for such a long time. I want to try the purple shade and also buy a shade I will go out of the house with.

PROOF IT! WATERPROOF EYESHADOW PRIMER

£5.50

I saw this just before I was going to pay and I had the feeling where I knew I would regret not buying it so I bought it. I used it briefly when I got home and I can't report back if it is waterproof or not but I'm definitely going to try it. When I applied it to my eyelids, I did set it with a little bit of loose powder as it was quite sticky and it would've made my eyeshadow harder to blend.

I hope you enjoyed me sharing these products with you and hopefully it will inspire you to buy some yourself. I know for sure that I am going back to spend way too much money...
